Grade 10 student receives P1M gift on graduation day
What is the grandest gift you've ever received?
For Grade 10 student Charles Joseph Baybay, or CJ, it would be the cape made out of a bunch of P1,000 bills that totaled to P1 million!
According to a report on “Good News,” CJ received the big gift from his older brother, Christian Merck Grey.
“Nung napag-usapan namin ng wife ko, ang ireragalo talaga namin is kotse," Christian said. "And then, babalik na siya sa US, wag kotse, sabi ko, pera kaya?”
CJ said that he knew his brother was going to get something for him, but didn't expect that it was going to be a million pesos.
But Christian’s wife, Pamela Esguerra Grey, said that CJ truly deserves the gift, saying, “Deserve kasi ni CJ 'yung 1 million kasi matalino sya, with honors sya grumaduate, and mabait talaga siyang bata.”
Aside from the P1 million in cash, Christian also prepared a gold necklace for his brother. When he finally gave the gifts, CJ was shocked.
“A cape and it had a lot of money in it! I was like, ‘Nah, this gotta be a prank!’” CJ said.
The student said he has entrusted the money he received to their mother.
“I think I’d rather use that one million to invest in my business or whatever in the future,” he said.
But graduation gift aside, what CJ is most grateful for is having Christian as a brother.
