Delivery rider shows off photos of daughter graduating cum laude

A delivery rider went viral because he brings around a large photograph of his daughter who is graduating cum laude, according to the report of Katrina Son on "State of the Nation" Monday.

"Proud Papa," is the caption on the photographs that he carries around, one on his back and the other on the courier bag attached to his bicycle.

The uploader of the photo, Mark Kris Oliver Palanca, who is also a father said "Sa junction usual traffic nakakuha ako ng chance na makuhanan siya tapos shinare ko lang to inspire others."

"Parang alam mo yun despite of the negativities  parang ang sarap niyang i-share," he added.

The rider, Elmer Cureg Malianao of Antipolo City, said the moment his daughter confirmed that she was graduating cum laude he started thinking of ways to share the news to everyone.

He initially thought of printing a tarpaulin, but he wanted more people to know how proud he is of his daughter.

So he decided to have her graduation printed and laminated and to carry these wherever he went.

Malianao added that it is not easy to raise a child, especially that his wife passed away.

"Kung sisigaw ako at makakarating sa langit sana makarating para marinig niya ako ang tagumpay nung anak niya ngayon," he said.

"Sonya, ito na! Grabe. Cum Laude yung anak mo! Kung narinig mo ako," he shouted.

Sophia was also proud of her father, who she considers a hero.

"Pa, ipagpatuloy mo yang ginagawa mo at ako naman din ang babawi sa iyo kapag nakapag trabaho na ako. Ako naman ang bibili ng mga gusto mo po," she said. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
