Miss Universe Philippines has issued a statement on the now-viral video that showed Philippine representative Michelle Dee being escorted from a line-up in a TV guesting in Mexico City.

"Firstly, the segment was done by the time she exited," the local beauty pageant organization began in the statement posted on Instagram.

When Michelle excused herself to drink water "because she wasn't feeling well due to the past week's tedious back-to-back schedule," it was the MUPH team that decided to pull her out and bring her back to the hotel to rest.

"Michelle hopes to join the city tour today as long as she feels better," it added, as it asked pageant fans to "wish she gets better soon."

After Sunday's coronation, Michelle was invited to join the Miss Universe delegation in Mexico for a few engagements in next year's host country.

Everything looked dandy until a video circulated on social media on Tuesday, showing Miss Universe owner Anne Jakrajutatip with the beauty queens, including Michelle, at a TV guesting.

From the stage, Jakrajutatip was seen calling an associate, who, after engaging in a whispered conversation, approached Michelle and escorted her out of the line-up.

In her Instagram broadcast channel, Michelle issued a statement about "love, empathy & kindness over everything" before saying she "really needed a drip drip," presumably meaning the therapeutic procedure infusing vitamins straight to the blood stream that's quite in fashion these days.

She expressed her surprise at how cold Mexico can get, posted a photo of herself basking in the sunlight saying she "found another heat source," before writing the cryptic quote, "success will always be the best revenge."

In another Instagram update, MUPH shared that Michelle was able to join the tour in Mexico City but in Michelle's broadcast channel, she said she had cut it short due to health reasons.

"Umuwi na ako pabalik sa hotel. Can't afford to get even more sick before heading back home. Healthy dapat pag nakita ko kayo!" She said in a broadcast channel update early Wednesday morning (Philippine time).

"Your girl dora is okay. No need to worry. All love," she added.

Michelle finished in the Top 10 of the Miss Universe 2023 beauty pageant, and brought home three special awards.

Nicaragua's Sheynnis Palacios took home the crown.
