Would Martin Javier and Anjo Pertierra propose with a P299 ring? TV hosts answer

Kapuso hosts Martin Javier and Anjo Pertierra are the latest stars to grace the "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" talk show.

On Thursday's episode, Martin and Anjo were asked a hypothetical question in relation to the engagement ring post that sparked debate online: "Would they propose with a P299 ring?"

"Ako kasi, Tito Boy, 'yung P299, 'yung value no'n nakadepende sa tao, sa financial standing nung tao," Martin said.

The sportscaster acknowledged that for other people, a P299 ring may already be expensive.

"Para sa 'kin, personally, ngayon, sa stage ng buhay ko, hindi, hindi ako magbibigay. Of course, I would like to splurge a little bit para i-spoil ko 'yung significant other, pero kung kapareho ng value nung P299 na 'yon at nandoon ako sa stage na 'yon, I guess, mag-iisip ako," Martin said.

Anjo shared the same sentiments.

"It depends, Tito Boy. Tulad nga nung sinabi ni Martin, depende sa katayuan mo sa ngayon, sa kinikita mo, kung may iba ka bang priorities, or whatsoever," he said.

"Kung kaya mong i-afford, why not? Kasi pinaghirapan mo 'yung part mo eh, 'yung relationship, pinaglaban n'yo, 'di ba?" he added. "Pero kung hindi, kung ano 'yung pinaka-best na nandiyan na na available na kaya mong ma-afford, 'yun na 'yon."

Martin is currently part of "24 Oras," hosting its "Game Changer" segment.

Since joining the Kapuso network, Martin has hosted "Rise Up Stronger: NCAA Season 96" in 2021 and "Game On: NCAA Season 97" in 2022.

Meanwhile, Anjo is currently among the hosts of "Unang Hirit."
