Entire Star Wars story told in handmade 30-ft tapestry, can be yours for $20k
"Star Wars" fans may want to start saving $20,000 for a 30-foot handmade cotton tapestry that tells the story of the entire saga.
Dubbed "The Coruscant Tapestry," the 30-x-13 work by British artist Aled Lewis is on exhibit at Gallery 1988 West in Los Angeles.
A description of the tapestry on the gallery's website said Lewis' work is hand-stitched on Klostern fabric and stiffened with a thin batting and hemmed with a custom-made printed pixel star farbric on rear.
"This cross-stitch tapestry depicts the Star Wars saga (so far) from Episode 1 through Episode 6. Quotes from each movie are written in Aurebesh on the surrounding border," it said.
A separate report on tech site Mashable said the tapestry covers all six films in the Star Wars saga from The Phantom Menace to Return of the Jedi.
Mashable added the work is part of Lewis' exhibit, "Such Pixels," until March 1.
"The lettering around the tapestry? That's quotations from the films in Aurebesh, the writing system for the Basic language, which is what most of the characters in Star Wars speak. Lewis created each 8-bit-like scene on his laptop, then had friends and family help him stitch it over a period of six months," it added. — LBG, GMA News
