With a firm voice and hardened features, Kooky Tuason espouses Filipino-inspired values through spoken word poetry, an art form often performed in diverse settings such as cafes and street rallies.

Richard Tuason.
Tuason, an award-winning poet, weaves her words with her brother Richard's hybrid, custom instruments, creating eerie, sobering tones recorded in four spoken word albums and various music videos.

She and Richard will soon jack up pulses on stage with their unique pieces at Mad Fest, a live art festival at the SM MOA concert grounds on December 5.

The Tuasons will be joined by local favorites such as Urbandub, Sandwich, Imago, and Kjwan, as well as indie bands Flying Ipis and Cheats.

DJs Ace Ramos, Katsy Lee, Deuce Manila, and Motherbasss will drop the bass with electropop bands Autotelic and Sinyma, while soulful music will stream from Chocolate Grass, Toni B., and B.P. Valenzuela.

Kiwi singer Kimbra will round off the gig with hits such as "Cameo Lover", "Two Way Street", and "90's Music".

All these acts will be accompanied by art installation projects with Leeroy New, ImagineNationStudyo, Jagnus Design Studio, and Secret Studio. — Rie Takumi/VC, GMA News
