WATCH: Simpsons get pixel art treatment

You've seen them get the block treatment - as Lego bricks and as Minecraft characters. Now, get ready to see The Simpsons in their latest block-buster: as pixel art.

Paul Robertson and Ivan Dixon, with music by Jeremy Dower, recreated the opening theme for The Simpsons, and posted it on YouTube.

The YouTube video, published on Feb. 1 and complete with the classic couch gag, gained 631,384 views as of Tuesday afternoon (Manila time).

A separate report on tech site Mashable said that while Robertson and Dixon directed the pixel art video, Dower rendered a synthesized version of The Simpsons theme "to complete the video game feel."

"The real treat, however, is the trippy couch gag, featuring a three-eyed Bart, a flying Maggie and floating Homer heads," it added. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
