Short film on family, faith among Cebu’s bets to IEC

A Cebu-made feature on family and faith may be among the short films shown at the upcoming International Eucharistic Congress next January.

"Binhi" will be one of Cebu's bets for the national short film festival for the IEC, GMA Cebu's Nikko Sereno reported Tuesday.

The film, which focuses on family and faith—and persevering despite disabilities—won several awards at the Cebu IEC short film festival last weekend.

It is one of at least 13 short films made by youths from the San Carlos Seminary.

Winning entries from last weekend's film festival will be Cebu's bets in the IEC short film festival's national competition later this year.

Films selected from the national competition will be shown to delegates at next year's IEC.

Earlier this year, hundreds of Cebu youths attended a workshop on how to produce such short films. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
