Pia Cayetano reposts Facebook pics on Torre De Manila ‘photobomb’


Sen. Pia Cayetano on Wednesday re-posted her pictures at the Rizal Park that cast doubt on DMCI's claims that heritage activists used "trick shots" to show that its 49-storey Torre De Manila condominium marred the sight line of the national hero's monument.

"Ito lang masasabi ko. Last year, I did an ocular when the building wasn't as high as it is now, and I can vouch that even then, it can clearly be seen from all angles, except from the extreme right," she said.

In September 2014, Cayetano as head of the Senate Committee on Education, Arts, and Culture organized an ocular inspection after DMCI said that the shots marring the visual corrideros of the monument were just photoshopped, only to disprove it.

DMCI lawyer Victor Lazatin also pointed out that those "photobomber" shots are just tricks to "distort the truth" during the oral arguments at the Supreme Court on Tuesday.  ]

"We took photos from the point of view of an average visitor and compared to those in social media. Using a normal camera, it is still possible to show the monument without Torre de Manila. Rizal monument still towers over," Lazatin said. -NB, GMA News
