WATCH: The Miss Universe 2015 preliminary competition

The heat is on as the 2015 Miss Universe preliminary competition airs 7 p.m. Wednesday PST (11 a.m. Thursday, Manila time) from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Eighty contestants are competing in the 64th Miss Universe pageant this year.

With an hour or so left before the preliminary competition, Miss Universe contestants were shown being prepped backstage in this Twitter post.

Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Pia Wurtzbach, the country's bet to the beauty tilt, said she was "just feeling confidently beautiful" during the rehearsal earlier for the preliminary competition.
