Vogue ‘obsessed’ with Fil-Canadian model Paolo Roldan’s street style
Top fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue has taken a liking to a Filipino-Canadian model's street style.
In a recent feature, Vogue’s fashion news writer Liana Satenstein was all praises for Paolo Roldan's fashion sense. “It’s a handsome mash-up of sturdy workwear and army-surplus cool, ranging from worn-in denim jackets and fatigue trousers to perfectly folded knit beanies and souvenir jackets,” wrote Satenstein.
“But it’s not just the covetable pieces— Roldan has a specific way of styling his go-to looks. His pants are always cuffed or rolled at the ankle for a peek of sock or a flash of lace-up boot... Plus, the man has a knack for layers—he’ll throw a bomber jacket over a military vest, or a worn-in poncho on top of a polished overcoat,” she added.
But it is how Roldan spices up his look with chunky sterling rings and bracelets and layers of long, silver necklaces that sealed the deal.
“Maybe it’s just that his look is so refreshing compared with the gaggle of tongue-in-cheek soccer scarves and lanky limbs in streetwear sweats that infiltrated the sidewalks of the men’s Fashion Weeks,” Satenstein said.
Roldan is a fashion model under the Soul Artist Management. He has appeared on runways for Givenchy, Armani, and Dolce and Gabbana. He was also part of Bench Body’s 2013 Spring/Summer campaign.
