‘Schism’ imagines Moliere in the time of Facebook

George de Jesus III takes on the challenge of appropriating Moliere's "The Misanthrope." In the age of endless adaptations, he writes and directs a play that chooses instead to tackle the themes and not the plot.
"Schism" wants to talk about hypocrisy and pretension—and what those two mean online and in the arts. The story is told in between a fictional staging of Moliere's classic, with the actors and the directors discussing (and sometimes depicting) the insincerity of people in the social media age.

Award-winning actress Angeli Bayani takes the stage as the actress Helen, starring opposite Tuxqs Rutaquio as the playwright Alex. Joining them is Ron Alfonso as Don, the director of the play within the play.
Also in the cast are Roence Santos, Jojo Rigerra, Kyla Rivera, Chini Concepcion, and Renante Bustamante. — Aya Tantiangco/BM, GMA News
