Few people know that prior to becoming a legislator and a government official, Risa Hontiveros got her start on the stage.

A day after her proclamation as a senator, a photo from Hontiveros' days in Repertory Philippines went viral.

The photo, posted by Rinna Estrella-Gustilo‎ in the Memories of Old Manila Facebook group, featured Hontiveros along with the rest of the cast of the Sound of Music production: Menchu Lauchengco, Raymond Lauchengco, Risa Hontiveros, Javier Arriaga, Monique Wilson, Lea Salonga, and Gianina Revilla.

Meanwhile, another user posted a link to the group's performance in the defunct noontime show Student Canteen.

Raymond Lauchengco, Monique Wilson, and Lea Salonga all had lengthy careers in film, music, and stage.

Hontiveros, meanwhile, found a different calling, finally making it into the Senate on her third try. —JST, GMA News
