Netflix releases teaser of Lemony Snicket's ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’

The wretched tales of the lives of the Baudelaire orphans Violet, Klaus and Sunny, and their vicious guardian Count Olaf will soon be brought to life in January on Netflix .

Netflix recently released its first teaser for "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events," a series based on the 13 children's novels by Lemony Snicket a.k.a. Daniel Handler, who is also one of the executive producers.

On the trailer, Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket can be seen walking on the set and warning viewers about the melancholia, ennui and wistfulness that the series is expected to cause.

"Look away before this dire tale is even filmed, and avoid the cruel whimsy and whimsical cruelty of what's to come," he said.

The eight-episode series will also star Neil Patrick Harris as the evil Count Olaf, Malina Weissman as Violet, and Louis Hynes as Klaus.

If you don't want to take Snicket's advice, set your alarms and mark your calendars on January 13, 2017. —NB, GMA News
