Hugh Jackman’s last Wolverine movie is called ‘Logan’

Having appeared in practically all the main installments of 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movies, Hugh Jackman is just about ready to sheath his claws and retire from the role of Wolverine after playing the character for over 15 years.

Before that, however, he is reteaming with director James Mangold to close out the journey of the feral mutant in the third Wolverine solo flick that finally got its title revealed in this year’s New York Comic Con: “Logan.”

Jackman revealed the name by tweeting the poster being put up in a building somewhere in New York City.

Set in the year 2024, "Logan" will follow the battle-weary titular character as he seeks peace after a life filled with tragedy. However, he goes back into the fray when a company called Transigen starts turning mutant children into soldiers—especially when one of the kids turns out to have claws like his.

Those who know Wolverine lore will be happy to know that the film will indeed feature his clon X-23. As reported by The Wrap, Laura Kinney will finally make her long awaited live-action debut in the X-Men films universe, and she will be played by actress Sienna Novikov. Richard E. Grant will be playing Doctor Zander Rice, and “Narcos” star Boyd Holbrook will play the villainous Donald Pierce.

Patrick Stewart will also reprise his role as Professor X, looking just as tired and weary as his old mutant comrade in arms.
