Surprises await at this year’s Philippine K-Pop Convention
Mark your calendars, K-Pop fans! The biggest, grandest and most anticipated K-Pop convention is back in the Philippines! The 8th Philippine K-Pop Convention (PKCI) will take place all day Sunday at the Philippine Trade and Training Center in Pasay City.
The annual convention boasts of over fifty K-Pop fanclub booths. Some of the booth concessionaries will be selling fandom merchandise from popular K-Pop bands such as EXO, BTS, Infinite, BTOB, SHINee, Girls Generation, and many more.

This year’s program line-up will include performances from the Korean dancer-entertainer Dasuri Choi, the K-Pop band OFFROAD, and our home-grown Filipino talents. The members of OFFROAD (Daewon, Habin, Rio, Kino and Harang) will be interacting and playing games with their fans at the PCKI.
In addition to that, the program line-up also includes a K-Pop Dance Battle, a Singing Star contest, an Idol Look-Alike Contest, K-Pop Kosplay, the migme Fanclub of the Year Award and the 8th Philippine K-Pop Awards. There will also be a surprise performance and several “twists” in the program, according to one of the organizers.
Fans and K-Pop enthusiasts are promised a night of pure fun with numerous games and raffles. The biggest raffle prize from Viu Philippines is an all-expense paid trip for two to Jeju Island, Korea.
The beneficiaries of the PKCI are Gawad Kalinga and Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), as it has always been for the PKCI events. The entrance fee to this year’s PKCI is P350; tickets may be bought during the event itself. — BM, GMA News
