Beauty queens model Albert Andrada’s Chinese spring flower-inspired looks
Multi-awarded fashion designer Albert Andrada kicked off the Year of the Rooster celebrations with a fresh 15-piece collection, launched at Sofitel Philippine Plaza last week.
The haute couture gowns in the collection, titled "L’Abondance," were inspired by the spring flowers in China. It aims to highlight the "abundance in life."
In line with the Miss Universe fever in the country, the show featured models from Mercator, including Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2015 Christi McGarry, Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2014 Yvethe Santiago, Binibining Pilipinas World 2009 Marie Ann Umali, and Binibining Pilipinas first runner up 2012 Elaine Moll.
They were joined by Jodilly Pendre, runner up in the second cycle of Asia’s Next Top Model, and Alaiza Malinao, a contestant in Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 4.
Mr. World Philippines 2016 Sam Adjani and high-profile model Hideo Muraoka were also featured in the show.
Andrada's previous creations include the now-famous blue gown Pia Wurtzbach wore when she won Miss Universe as well as the National Costume she wore at the pageant. — Jessica Bartolome/BM, GMA News
