Miss Germany’s castle headpiece goes on exhibit at UST
Remember the headpiece Miss Germany Johanna Acs wore as part of her National Costume at the Miss Universe pageant? It was a castle, which—along with a book she carried—symbolized her country's rich fairy tale tradition.

The castle headpiece was given to interior designer Maria Consolacion Albar, who then turned it over to the University of Sto. Tomas, where it is now part of an exhibit at the UST Museum.
According to Albar, Acs gave them the headpiece as a symbol of her gratitude for the hospitality of the Filipino people.

Acs' national costume was designed by Mexican-American designer Christian Pelayo and pays tribute to Germany's famous fairy-tale-telling brothers, Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm.
The exhibit also features the Miss Universe doll collection of UST Educational Technology Center director Professor Anna Cherylle M. Ramos.
