Sci-fi horror ‘LIFE’ will grab you with its tentacles
Imagine exploring the stars and finding alien life in the vast reaches of space…only it might not be something you'd want to tangle with. This sums up the premise behind director Daniel Espinosa’s new science-fiction horror drama “LIFE,” which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, Ryan Reynolds, and Hiroyuki Sanada.
The movie is set inside the International Space Station, where a small crew of astronauts and scientists welcome a space probe with the first living proof of extraterrestrial life. Unfortunately, things go very wrong—quickly.
Much of the movie is reminiscent of the 1979 sci-fi horror classic “Alien,” including a claustrophobia-inducing setting and the message that the mysteries of space may be better left alone than tampered with.
Anyone who enjoys exploring the unknown and has a taste for horror will enjoy this early 2017 presentation. Expect the unexpected, and learn that life will always find a way to survive no matter the cost.
"LIFE" will open in theaters on March 23. — BM, GMA News
