‘The Dark Tower’ now has a trailer

“The Dark Tower” finally has an official trailer, and it’s got everything a fantasy action-adventure fan would want in a film. That means guns, weird creatures, the main character growling most of his lines, and Matthew McConaughey’s thick southern drawl.

The movie’s official synopsis reads:

“The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, also known as the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey), determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.”

The movie also stars Tom Taylor, Abbey Lee, Fran Kranz, Jackie Earle Haley, Katheryn Winnick, and Claudia Kim.

It is directed by Nikolaj Arcel, who previously helmed the critically acclaimed foreign-language film “A Royal Affair.”

“The Dark Tower” is based on Stephen King’s series of novels centering on the last “gunslinger” and his attempts to prevent the destruction of the Dark Tower – the magical structure that links the various universes of the author’s multiverse together. The first entry in the series, “The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger” was published in 1982, while the eighth, “The Dark Tower: The Wind Through the Keyhole” was published in 2012.
