Eminem's ‘Stan’ added to Oxford English Dictionary
Got any stans?
The Oxford English Dictionary this week officially added the word "stan", defining it as an informal term for "an overzealous or obsessive fan of a particular celebrity."

It credits Eminem for the popularization of the term, based on the song about a fan's fatal obsession with the American rapper.
"Stan" was released in 2000 and chronicles the life of the eponymous fictional fan who sends several letters to Eminem. Failing to receive a response in time, Stan ends up committing homicide and suicide.
The song and the music video received critical acclaim, going on to win Video of the Year, Best Rap Video, Best Direction, Best Cinematography at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, has yet to react to the news.
Billboard reports that the Oxford English Dictionary has previously added Kanye West's "cray," Drake's "YOLO" and Beyonce's "Bootylicious." — AT, GMA News
