CCP lights up ‘Habi ng Pagkakaisa’ Christmas tree
Christmas season has officially began at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
"Habi ng Pagkakaisa: Weaving the Multi-Cultural Filipino Together" was unveiled and lit at the Liwasang ASEAN following a short program by the Komedya ng Don Galo from Parañaque City and performers from the Amazing Show Manila.

"Habi ng Pagkakaisa" was the winning submission to the 2017 Holiday Light Installation Competition, designed by architects Rochelle Ong and Louie Suizo.
The patterns on the tree were inspired by various weaving traditions of indigenous peoples such as the Kalinga in Luzon, the Bagtason of the Visayas, and the Bagobo, the Mandaya, and T’Boli of Mindanao
Ong and Suizo shared that their design "aims to empower the weaving industry of our nation, which is deeply rooted in our rich culture as it is the same for all ASEAN countries."
The tree also represents the hope of Filipino people to shine a light into the world. — with a report from Danny Pata / AT, GMA News
