Filipino designers Albert Andrada, Rajo Laurel and Randy Ortiz were tapped by Malacañang to dress the ASEAN leaders and dialogue partners and their spouses. Each barong featured a distinct Filipino quality such as Magiting, Magiliw, Marangal, Mapayapa, and Magalang.
Trump, according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, wore the Matipuno barong.
The US President arrived in the Philippines from Vietnam on Sunday after attending the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation meetings where he met for the first time his Philippine counterpart Duterte.
Trump is set to hold a bilateral talk with Duterte on Monday.
Earlier in Vietnam, he offered to mediate between the claimants to the south China Sea, where five countries contest China's sweeping claims to the busy waterway. — LA, GMA News
