Free Christmas show ‘Belen’ combines ballet and the circus
A show combining ballet and the circus is now delivering the story of Christmas in an unusual way.
Circus D'Ballet, a collaboration between Ballet Manila and Star City, presents "Belen," which features dancers, a magician, jugglers, trapeze artists, contortionists, fire blowers, sword swallowers, unicyclists, stilt walkers, and acrobats in its story of the Three Magi traveling to see the baby Jesus.
“Every year, we look forward to Circus D’Ballet because it’s really like a Christmas gift for audiences who come to Star City. Each show is fun and meaningful that is just fitting for the season,” Ballet Manila artistic director Lisa Macuja Elizalde said in a press release.
"Belen" is choreographed and directed by Ballet Manila co-artistic director Osias Barroso. It opened on December 16 and runs until January 2 at the Aliw Theater in Star City, CCP Complex, Pasay City. Admission is free.
