UP Singing Ambassadors win grand prize at the 66th Concorso Polifonico Internazionale 'Guido d'Arezzo'

The University of the Philippines Singing Ambassadors just won the grand prize at the 66th Concorso Polifoncio Internazionale "Guido d'Arezz" Choral Competition.

UPSA announced their win on their Facebook page Sunday morning, where they also shared the happy news of bagging four other awards — Compulsory Category, Secular Music, Sacred Music, and Monographic Category — in addition to the grand prize.

The win grants them the right to join in the most prestigious choral competition Europeon Choral Grand Prix next year which will be held in Arezzo.

"We still have a month left to spend in Europe but we are so excited to bring back home the laureates we achieved for the Filipino people."

They dedicated their success to their "number one cheerleader" Rafael Isberto.

"This win is especially dedicated to our beloved Kuya Paeng: UPSA's number one cheerleader. Ad majorem dei gloriam!"

This isn't their first grand prize victory this year. In July, UPSA won at the Sing Berlin! International Choir Competition.

Congratulations! — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
