Atlantis Theatrical launches 20th anniversary year with 'Angels in America'
Atlantis Theatrical is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and to open its landmark year, Atlantis brings the most Tony-nominated production in theater’s history: “Angels in America: Millennium Approaches,” the first of the two-part Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning play.
The Atlantis production features a stellar cast: Pinky Amador (The Angel), Cherie Gil (Hannah Pitt), Angeli Bayani (Harper Pitt), Art Cuna (Roy Cohn), Andoy Ranay (Belize), Topper Fabregas (Prior Walter), Markki Stroem (joe Pitt), and Nelsito Gomez (Louis Ironson). Bobby Garcia will direct the play, which will run from March 22 until April 7.

Set in 1980’s New York, Angels in America: Millennium Approaches tells the story of a gay man abandoned by his lover when he contracts AIDS, and how the marriage of a closeted Mormon lawyer stalls. There is an ex-drag queen working as a nurse, and an angel.
The 20th anniversary celebration continues with a local production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, which will run from June-July 2019, and finally, with Sweeney Todd in October 2019. — LA, GMA News
