Award-winning writer Clinton Palanca passes away

Clinton Palanca, an award-winning author and one of the Philippine's premier food writers, has passed away.

This was confirmed by his wife, Lourdes Gordolan, who posted a statement on Thursday.

"Husband, writer, kindred spirit, friend, chef, travel partner, creative soul, loving father, caring son. You were a man of many words, but there seem to be too few words to describe you," her post read.

Asking for some time for their family to grieve, Gordolan said she would post details of the wake soon.

Palanca has contributed many works for publications including the New York Times, the Philippine Daily Inquirer, and Esquire.

The renowned food writer was also a three-time winner of the Palanca Memorial Award for his short stories The Apartment and The Window, as well as his essay, In Paris. — MDM, GMA News
