Aicelle on having Derrick in 'Rak of Aegis Season 7': 'He has this brilliant voice'

Aicelle Santos is more than happy to welcome her fellow Kapuso, Derrick Monasterio, into the Rak of Aegis family.

As someone who has known Derrick since he was a child, Aicelle believes "Rak" is a great avenue for him to show the world his talent in singing.

"I've always told him he has this brilliant voice and I think eto 'yong perfect time para makita ng mga tao," Aicelle told GMA News Online at the press conference of Rak of Aegis Season 7.

"Sabi ko nga sa kanya na masaya ako na dito niya mararanasan 'yun dahil maalagaan talaga siya ng show and maraming marami siyang matututunan," she added.

The award-winning theater actor and singer has advised Derrick to "just take it easy and just take one step at a time."

"Don't pressure yourself kasi buo na 'yong show. Andito na 'yong mga old members so parang siyempre pressured siya. Sabi ko, natural 'yon but you have to learn and trust the procees. Unti-unti you'll get there," she added.

Asked for advice for actors who want to crossover to theater Aicelle happily said, "Hali kayo masaya dito!"

She said theater will constantly teach them lessons in life and as a performer.

"You will be humbled and yung matututunan mo hindi mo lang siya madadala sa stage  as a performer as an actor, madadala mo rin siya sa sarili mong buhay kasi ang teatro is giving yourself every single day, every single show," she said.

"Sa sarili mo marami kang matututunan it's a give and take relationship every day on stage with your co-actors and even backstage. Try it. It's so much fun."

Derrick is among the new members joining Rak of Aegis Season 7, others include Kimberly Baluzo, Bayang Barrios, Jenine Desiderio, Noel Cabangon, Leah Patricio and Randy Santiago. — LA, GMA News
