Check out the new Paseo De Roxas underpass mural by Pinoy artist-activist AG Saño

Walking through the Paseo De Roxas underpass in Makati City has just gotten a hundred times better.

The underpass gets a new mural by "artivist" (artist-activist) AG Saño, so not only is it pretty, it sends an important message too.

Saño was tapped by Security Bank for a partnership to create the underpass mural, which he titled "Art in Defense of Mother Nature."

The artivist said it was an easy decision for him to say yes, because he felt he could use it to get his message across.

"I think that the natural defense mechanism of species is not enough anymore to cope with what we humans have been doing to their ecosystems and their habitats," Saño said.

"That's why I thought of equipping them with armor, metal armor to signify that there's a need to go beyond what is natural, go beyond the status quo and to exert more effort in trying to help the ecosystems thrive, and trying to help the species survive," he added.

Saño has painted more than 700 murals in 16 countries and is known for his passion in protecting the environment.
