Bb. Pilipinas confirms Miss Universe franchise no longer with them

Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) confirmed on Wednesday that the Miss Universe franchise is no longer with them.

BPCI issued its statement on social media, saying “that after 55 years of nurturing and protecting the brand, Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has decided not to renew its license with BPCI.”

The organization will still continue staging the annual Binibining Pilipinas Pageant and focus on its charitable initiatives, it said.

BPCI expressed pride in having the Miss Universe license since 1964 and thanked the 55 winners sent to the Miss Universe pageant.

“In all those years, we have garnered four Miss Universe winners, nine runners-up, and 10 Top 20 finishes,” it added.
