Manila launches musical dancing fountain

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, the city of Manila on Wednesday inaugurated the musical dancing fountain at the Bonifacio Shrine.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna led the inauguration of the fountain, which swayed to the tune of various Filipino novelty songs as the lights moved in sync with the water.

The fountain also formed the Philippine National Flag when viewed from above.

According to Moreno, this is the government's way of reviving the "glory of the nation's capital and its impact in uplifting the people's morale."

"This is not for us, this is for the people," he said in a press release.
