New exhibit ALT Philippines features art for Taal
Ten dynamic local art galleries have opened a new three-day art showcase together called ALT Philippines 2020, and it aims to "reframe the art show."
The exhibit features galleries titled 1335Mabini, Galleria Duemila, Underground, Artinformal, Blanc, The Drawing Room, Finale Art File, MO Space, Vinyl on Vinyl and West Gallery.
And right at the center of the venue was a large cluster of framed artwork, done by different hands and sourced from different galleries.
This was the show's "ALT for Taal" section.

According to ALT Philippines' press relations manager Stephanie Frondoso, the works on the ledge were for sale, and the galleries have agreed to donate proceeds to some evacuees affected by eruption of Taal Volcano in January.
"Proceeds (from ticket sales) are going to St. John Nepomuceno Parish, which put up an evacuation center which has 6,000 people or more already. And aside from the ticket sales — we call this area the ledge — everything here, the cut of the gallery, goes to the same, the Taal evacuees," Frondoso explained.
Interestingly enough, Taal also materialized in some of the gallery's showcases, particularly in the works of ceramics artist Ella Mendoza displayed by ArtInformal.
