Quarantine has lensman Eddie Boy Escudero unearthing '90s photos of Eraserheads, Rivermaya, Wolfgang, and more

Quarantine made him do it.

Photographer Eddie Boy Escudero had stacks and stacks of clear books containing film negatives from everything he witnessed and documented in the ‘90s: The burgeoning band scene, the concerts, the raves, its unique fashion sensibilities, and the parties in Malate and in Makati and where-have you.

He'd been meaning to upload them too, "but I was lazy, there was always something else to do.

"So you could say the virus was the best thing to happen to my negatives."

Like a quarantine project of sorts, the esteemed photographer has been uploading them on Facebook in batches, sending some of his 5,000 Facebook friends and nearly 4000 followers down memory lane.

"I've uploaded about six clear books already and I have about 60 or more to go," he said. These clear books, he added, aren't even all of it.

Escudero lost a third of his achrives in Typhoon Ondoy. "I was shooting film from 1993 to about 2004, when I shifted to digital camera," explained the lensman. He first managed bands like Rizal Underground and Tropical Depression before retiring from the music industry in 1996 to focus on photography full-time.

"I hope I'm keeping people company," Escudero said.

Looking at the comments on his posts — fragments of memories building one on top of another — we'd say he's more than just keeping us company. Eddie Boy has us dancing down the memory lane.

With his permission — and some of his recollection — we share a few below:
