Art in the Park goes online!

Art in the Park is going online this year, after being postponed last March because of COVID-19.

And instead of having just one sweltering day for the country's "Affordable Art Fair," it's going to stretch for seven days, starting August 10.

But the basics remain: 53 exhibitors will showcase a wide range of works, all with a cap of P50,000, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Museum Foundation of the Philippines. There's going to be a musical performance, albeit online by independent singer-songwriter and guitarist Martti Franca on the fair’s closing day.

This year's specials — the promised Garapata exhibit, Garapata Hatchery, Richard Quebral's Ay! lah, lah, land, and  Robert Alejandro's live drawing session — will all push through, with Alejandro's live sessions happening in Art in the Park's social media accounts.

With Art in the Park going online, it adds a live auction of the largest painting Richard Quebral did for the fair. That happens on Sunday, August 16.

The 14th edition of Art in the Park was originally scheduled on March 15 at the Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village Makati. A week before the event, on March 9, organizers announced its postponement citing COVID-19 why
