Pinoy exorcists of Ozamiz revisit shocking cases of deliverance
It can be very easy for a person to lose faith, especially during a time of pain and suffering like the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is precisely why the Office of Exorcism of Deliverance Ministry under the Immaculate Conception Metropolitan Cathedral of Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental keeps the door open for those who might need their help.
This deliverance ministry, fully recognized by the Catholic Church, has handled more than a thousand cases of demonic possession, hundreds of which they were able to document.
In a rare opportunity, deliverance ministers Br. Wendell and Dr. Dino sat down with "Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho" to talk about some of the most unforgettable moments they experienced while performing their duties.
The exorcists also addressed doubts and speculation over the authenticity of exorcism footage, explaining in great detail how some unbelievable moments captured on camera came to be.

Levitation
The Ministry once encountered a perplexing case of a woman who reportedly levitated from her bed while under the influence of a demonic spirit.
The victim was also said to have spoken in a different voice and tried to physically harm her mother, who she begged to untie her restraints.
After the deliverance, the girl started coughing and vomiting, then later came to with no memory of the events, as if she only awoke from a deep slumber.
Dr. Dino acknowledged the scientific impossibility of a person defying the laws of gravity, but both he and Br. Wendell knew that levitation could also be a sign of the demonic spirit getting weaker.
"Nang nakita ko na nag-levitate siya, itong manifestation na ito ay nagpapahiwatig na mahina na," Br. Wendell said.
("When I saw her levitating — that's a sign that the demon is turning weak.")
"‘Pag nag-wild na masyado, marami nang sigaw at tsaka nagpapakita ng bangis, ibig sabihin non malapit na siyang lumabas," Dr. Dino added.
("When the possessed becomes agitated— screaming and shouting and turning feral, it means that the demon is ready to leave the body of the possessed.")

Incubus
The exorcists of Ozamiz also encountered a case of a couple whose marriage was believed to be attacked by a male form of a demon known as an "incubus."
A woman recalled having a certain "Roque Arubia" visiting her every night in her sleep, forcing her to marry him and taking advantage of her.
The woman sought the services of Br. Wendell after "Roque" started to attack her actual husband in his sleep, as well.
'Mortem'
Br. Wendell and Dr. Dino were especially disturbed by a 2017 case involving a student who was suddenly able to speak Latin.
The victim reportedly approached Br. Wendell and kept on repeating the word "mortem" which meant "death." Br. Wendell shared that someone speaking Latin is one of the most common signs that a person may be possessed.
The program consulted with Latin Language Professor Jovino Miroy to examine the said video. According to him, the student was indeed speaking Latin. That and the student can actually understand the Latin words being said to her. Professor Miroy shared that understanding Latin is very difficult. People used to learn it for four years in high school, and for another two years in college.

Br. Wendell admitted being afraid during this moment, but it was only one of the many dangers experienced by exorcists.
The deliverance minister recalled being punched in the face by a possessed individual, and encountering what he believed to be a demonic spirit who appeared to him after an accident.
Even Dr. Dino, who has been a doctor since 2009, had a fear of certain "vengeful demons" who might come to seek revenge.
"I try not to separate my faith from my profession," the doctor said.
"Magiging mahirap lang 'yan kung malayo 'yung pananampalataya mo. There's a lot of things na hindi kayang i-explain 'yung mga phenomenon ng science," he added.
