Hotdog classics meet Manila locations in tribute concert for iconic OPM band

Fans of OPM icon Hotdog will once again get to hear the band's greatest hits in a special online show on December 13.

Dubbed the "Hinahanap-hanap Kita Manila – The Manila Heritage Concert," the event is a tribute to the late Hotdog founders Rene and Dennis Garcia.

In a Zoom press conference on Monday, director Juno Oebanda said the project started when he heard the mix tape done by Dennis' son Paolo months after his death.

"From there we wondered, 'Why don't we do a Hotdog tribute since there was no proper such tribute done for the Garcia brothers who passed away all in the last two years?'" Oebanda said.

Rene passed away in September 2018 and his brother Dennis died in January this year.

The show features the Hotdog classics with videos shot on various Manila locations, such as the Jones Bridge, Intramuros, Luneta, Paco Park, Lagusnilad, and the National Planetarium.

Hotdog is famous for its 1976 song "Manila" and for pioneering the subgenre Manila Sound.

Performing artists include Raymund Marasigan, Ebe Dancel, Armi Millare, Yeng Constantino, Blaster Silonga, Nicole Laurel Asensio, Bing Austria, Bea Lorenzo, Rubber Inc, Gary Valenciano, and Bras Pas Pas Pas Pas.

The videos were directed by Juno Oebanda, RA Rivera, Alco Guerrero, Quark Henares, Jason Tan, and Paolo Valenciano.

The full show will go live at 8 p.m. on Sunday via the following Facebook pages:
