Miss World Philippines 2021 Dinalupihan serves sorbetero realness in national costume competition

Sorbetes, anyone?

The Miss World Philippines 2021 National Costume competition was held Thursday, and the 45 beautiful Filipinas vying for this year's crown showcased creations from top designers in their respective places of origin.

The show opened with Candidate #1 Lea Macapagal from Dinalupihan City, who walked the stage in a sparkly, ice cream-inspired outfit featuring a classic sorbetero's cart.

Based on Lea's IG post, the costume was entitled "Mujer Sorbetes," created by Ken Batino and Jevin Salaysay.

Lea was unfortunately not among the Top 10 looks of the night, but her look already earned a ton of likes on Instagram.

The Top 10 of the Miss World Philippines 2021 National Costume competition are as follows (in no particular order):

According to the mechanics announced at the Gala Charity Ball, the winner of the National Costume competition will automatically advance to the Top 25 as a fast-track winner.

The Miss World Philippines grand coronation night is happening this Sunday (July 25). It will be livestreamed on KTX at 6 p.m. and broadcast on GMA-7 at 10:30 p.m.

Aside from the Miss World Philippines title, forty-five candidates are fighting for seven more crowns including Miss Supranational Philippines, Miss Eco International Philippines, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas, Miss Tourism Philippines, Miss Environment International Philippines, Miss Eco Teen International Philippines, and Miss Multinational Philippines. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
