Beatrice Luigi Gomez bows out in the Top 5 of Miss Universe, fails to make Top 3

Bea Luigi Gomez has officially ended her journey in the 2021 Miss Universe competition.

The Philippine bet failed to make it to the Top 3 during the pageant's final night on Monday.

During the Q&A portion of the Top 5, Miss Universe Philippines 2021 was asked for her opinion about mandating universal vaccine passports.

Luigi's answer was:

I believe that public health is everyone’s responsibility and to mandate vaccine and occulation is necessary.

And if mandating vaccine passport would help us in regulating and the roll outs of vaccine and mitigate the situation of the pandemic today then I would agree on mandating the necessary passport of vaccination.

The candidates who made it to the Top 3 and are assured of a crown are:

  • South Africa
  • India
  • Paraguay

Beatrice, who hails from Cebu City, made history in September after becoming the first openly out member of the LGBTQIA+ community to win the Miss Universe Philippines crown.

Before bowing out of the competition, she slayed the stage in a sexy pink swimsuit, a red evening gown, and her “Bakunawa” national costume.

Should she have won, Luigi would have been the fifth Filipina to be crowned Miss Universe.
