Miss World announces new coronation date!
After postponing its grand coronation event last week, Miss World has finally set a new date for this 70th anniversary finale: March 16!
The organization made the announcement on social media, saying the Miss World pageant final will still be in Puerto Rico, as originally planned.
“We are so excited that we are staying in Puerto Rico to crown the new Miss World!” Julia Morley, president of Miss World Ltd said in the statement.
“Our team is thrilled that we will show all the wonders that Puerto Rico has to offer as a premier tourism destination to the entire world. We love Puerto Rico," she added.
According to the announcement, the content that they've pre-recorded and taped in Puerto Rico in December will be shown internationally during the finale.
Tickets purchased for the December 16 show will still be honored.
The Philippines' Tracy Maureen Perez had been on a roll all through the competition. She's already secured a Top 30 slot following her win in the head-to-head challenge, was already in the Top 5 of Beauty with a Purpose Round, and was Missosology's second top final pick when the pageant finale was postponed due to "health and safety interests of contestants, staff, crew, and general public." — LA, GMA News
