How did people measure time before the calendar was invented? Kuya Kim explains

It’s easy for people to know that a year has passed with the use of a calendar, but how was it for those who lived before it was invented?

On Wednesday’s “24 Oras,” Kuya Kim said people used to measure time through agriculture. A year or 365 days would have passed between planting and harvesting.

Meanwhile, the calendar, which was derived from the Latin word “calendarium” or account book, was invented by the Romans.

The one commonly used now is the Gregorian calendar, which was introduced during the time of Pope Gregory XIII. It was invented to remind the people of when they should go to church.
