BTS ARMY organizes fundraising drive for Museo Pambata in honor of RM’s birthday

RM of BTS, whose real name is Kim Namjoon, turned 28 on September 12.

To honor the group’s leader, main rapper, and lover of the arts, the BTS ARMY has organized a donation drive for the benefit of the Museo Pambata.

The project is the brainchild of Joon Brides Philippines —“a close-knit group of Filipino ARMYs brought together by a shared admiration for BTS leader RM,” according to their Twitter — and RM fanbases.

The initiative is called Donate For Youth and it's aim is to sponsor 100 kids to attend the reopening of Museo Pambata, the country’s first immersive children’s museum located on Roxas Boulevard.

“The song ‘For Youth’ is about BTS’ gratitude to ARMYs, whose support has made their youth unforgettable. Let’s help create special memories for 100 Filipino kids by sponsoring their visit on the reopening of Museo Pambata on September 25!” the group said.

According to the group’s post, they have already raised P20,391 on Monday. Their target is to reach P45,000, with each ticket priced at P450. All proceeds will go to the museum.

The donation channels are posted on the museum’s Twitter page, and are open until September 25.

Aside from leading the biggest group in the world, RM is a patron of the arts. On his Instagram page, RM posts about his trips to museums, his favorite pieces, and his personal collection.

So immersed is RM in the art world that The New York Times recently interviewed him about his love for art and the importance of championing South Korean artists.
