Artist turns his love for iconic cars into a metaphorical art of 'Moving Forward'

Artist turns his love for iconic cars into a metaphorical art of 'Moving Forward'

Michael Sagaran, a former hotelier turned artist, showcases his "Moving Forward" art pieces through Conrad Manila's "Of Art and Wine" exhibit.

With the pandemic disrupting people's lives for more than two years, "Moving Forward" is an exhibit of acrylic paintings of various modes of transportation, a metaphor for people's aspiration to "move on" from what was, by whatever means.

Sagaran's painting collection of iconic cars executed in vivid colors, including the 1904 Harley-Davidson, 1929 Rolls Royce Phantom, and BMW 303, is a celebration of the vibrancy of life after the grimness of COVID-19 and lockdowns.

"Our commitment [to] championing local artists and artistry continues as the world heals and recovers as one from the many challenges of the recent years," said Conrad Manila's outgoing general manager Linda Pecoraro in a press release.

"This exhibit, aptly entitled 'Moving Forward,' embodies Conrad Manila's optimistic outlook in sharing the light and warmth of hospitality with our guests complemented by inspired touches of luxury," she added.
