10 barangays compete in Giant Lantern Festival 2022

Ten barangays put together a memorable show as they competed in the Giant Lantern Festival 2022 on Saturday.

According to Russel Simorio's report on "24 Oras Weekend," Sunday, the colorful giant lanterns measured 20 by 20 feet.

They also honored the frontliners in their designs as the festival saw its biggest edition since the pandemic began.

"Excited lahat ang mga tao na mapanood 'yung Ligligan Parul," Mayor Vilma Caluag. "Ang tagal din nating nabakante kaya as you see o, tingnan n'yo ang dami-daming tao."

("Everyone is excited to watch the Ligligan Parul. It's been a long time since we held it so there are so many people who attended.")

Barangay San Juan was hailed the champion of the competition, while Barangay Santa Lucia and Barangay Telabastagan were the first and second runners-up, respectively.
