Ely Buendia thanks fans 'for coming on such short notice' to reunion concert
Ely Buendia is not particularly popular for his sense of humor, so when the often-serious musician shows even just a hint of it, it's quite a delight.
On Instagram Monday, the Eraserheads vocalist posted photos from "Huling El Bimbo," and joked: "Thank you for coming on such short notice."
"You made history!" He added, with a laughing emoji.
The reunion show was announced in September, three full months ahead of the December date. Tickets quickly sold out that in November, organizers expanded the venue and added more tickets to "Huling El Bimbo."
They have estimated the crowd at Thursday's show to be at 75,000.
It featured the Eraserheads playing a three-part set, with The Diegos as their opening act, Gary V. performing a song, the Hologram of Francis M. plus his kids playing the opener "Superpoxy," and a full 18-piece orchestra.
While Huling El Bimbo is said to be the last reunion set of the Eraserheads in the Philippines, the band is already in deep discussion to take the show on a world tour next year.
