Raymund Marasigan releases Huling El Bimbo behind-the-scenes vlog: 'We needed that'
The Eraserheads' "Huling El Bimbo" reunion concert isn't just one for the books — it's an event one you won't soon forget.
On YouTube Thursday in fact, the warm fuzzy feeling from the show resurfaced after seeing Raymund Marasigan's behind-the-scenes vlog on the show.
The 13-minute video is something of a personal diary. From sharing his anxieties and worries pre-show, to documenting how the band worked out and rehearsed on the eve and morning of the concert, to explaining some of the highlights and bloopers that occurred during the December 22 shebang, it was more than enough to rekindle the feelings.
Especially heartwarming were Raymund's footage of the band working out at the hotel gym and Buddy missing out because, as his wife Ernest Zabala explained, "baka daw siya mapagod;" Raymund requesting and eating molo soup for breakfast at the hotel breakfast buffet, "burning through the set in Ely's room," and his visual explanation of the "Alapaap" blooper.
"The 'Alaapap' miscom was my fault," the Eheads drummer said. "My set list was wrong. No one noticed at the meeting," the drummer narrated as he showed footage of the meeting, where he tried to organize the setlist and did a roll call: "Alapaap, minsan, elbi," he was heard saying.
He also shared how he "asked Jazz [Nicholas] to play drums in 'Pare Ko' but forgot to inform production. Direk Paolo [Valenciano] was freaking out. Sorry direk," he said as he showed the footage he took from stage.
"We pulled off a seemingly impossible feat," Raymund said.
"It was a much needed event for everyone. We needed that," he ended his little narration.
The Eraserheads came together on December 22 for a reunion show dubbed "Ang Huling El Bimbo." Some 70,000 fans reportedly came to watch the show at the SMDC concert grounds. — LA, GMA Integrated News
