Philippine history materials available for free in new NHCP website

Attention History geeks! If you're looking for Philippine history materials, look no further than the National Historical Commission of the Philippines' new website.

On Monday, the (NHCP) unveiled the Memory Project, a website that contains free Philippine history materials including the Tagalog and Spanish versions of Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo.

There are 32 collections available to the public, including historian Xiao Chua's, the National Library of the Philippines Contribution, and Volumes 1-9 of the NHCP Journal of Philippine Local History and Heritage.

Individuals may view and download the material as well as conduct research on local and national history by visiting NHCP's website

The agency, however, noted that books categorized as levels 3 and 4 are not accessible to the public due to copyright concerns.

They can, however, be accessed on-site at the NHCP Building on Kalaw Street in Ermita Manila.
