A Waray translation of 'The Little Prince' will be released in February

A Waray translation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's "The Little Prince" will be launched on February 14!

Savage Mind, a bookstore in Naga City, shared on Instagram that they will publish the book titled "An Ditoy Nga Prinsipe."

Translated by Jerry B. Gracio, its book cover features papercut art by Mary Anne Mendoza Gacer, with a design by Rustom Pujado.

Previously, the book was translated into Hiligaynon, Ilokano, Chavacano, and Bicolano languages.

"An Ditoy Nga Prinsipe" is available for pre-order at P365, exclusive of shipping cost. Regular launching price will be P450.

The story follows a young prince who visits various planets, including Earth, and addresses themes of loneliness, friendship, love, and loss.

"The Little Prince" is considered as one of the literary classics. It is the most translated book in the world, having been translated in 480 languages.

Previously, it was adapted into a Filipino puppet play titled, "Prinsipe Bahaghari." It was turned into an animated movie in 2015.
