Rose Hanbury denies affair rumors with Prince William — report
Rose Hanbury has finally spoken up on accusations that she had an affair with Prince William.
In a statement released by her lawyer to the Business Insider, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley denied the allegations, saying they are “completely false.”
This is the first time Hanbury addressed the claims, which have been circulating since 2019.
It recently resurfaced after American TV host and writer Stephen Colbert mentioned her name along with William and Kate Middleton during the March 12 episode of his show "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert."
The British Royal Family is currently facing controversy, amid the public absence of Kate, the Princess of Wales, following an abdominal surgery.
She hasn't been seen in public for at least 80 days, with an edited family photo released on Mother's Day in the United Kingdom further fanning the flames of furor.
Born Sarah Rose Hanbury, the 40-year-old formel model became Marchioness of Cholmondeley after marrying David Rocksavage, the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley in 2009.
Her family has close ties to the Royal family that started with her grandmother, Lady Elizabeth Lambart, who was a well-known figure in the royal circle. Elizabeth was a bridesmaid in Queen Elizabeth II's 1947 wedding to Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
Rose is said to be friends with Kate, who is often spotted attending numerous royal events at Buckingham Palace.
