Tickets to 'Virgin Labfest 19: Pintog' in June now up for grabs

Virgin Labfest, the annual festival of untried, untested, and unstaged one-act plays, returns this June with its 19th edition "Pintog."

The event will run from June 12-30 at Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez (CCP Black Box Theater) at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Malate, Manila.

The CCP announced Wednesday on Facebook that tickets to the fest are now up for grabs via Ticketworld. Regular and premium tickets are each priced at P600 and P800, respectively.

Meanwhile, regular (P2,400) and premium (P3,200) festival passes are available for purchase at the CCP Box Office from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday to Friday.

"VLF 19: Pintog," which is jointly produced by the CCP, Tanghalang Pilipino Foundation Inc., and The Writer's Bloc, will present 12 new scripts that confront the complexities of the human experience.

These include Hans Pieter Arao's "Vengeance of the Gods," Lino Balmes' "Ningas," Rick Patriarca's "Love on the Brain," Joshua Lim So's "Pagkapit sa Hangin," Ara Jenika Vinzon's "Lipistick at Pulbura," Chesie Galvez-Cariño's "The Foxtrot," Elise Santos' "Sa Babaeng Lahat," Dustin Celestino's "Ang Munting Liwanag sa Madilim na Sulok ng Serbeserya sa Maynila," Neil Azcuna's "Si Hesus na'a sa U.S.," Heryln Alegre's "Sentenaryo," Dip Mariposque's "The Divine Family," and Jhudiel Clare Sosa's "Identite."

Three plays from last year's "VLF 18: Hitik" will also be revisited in the June event, namely Andrew Estacio's "Awit ng Dalagang Marmol," Dingdong Novenario's "Dominador Gonzales: National Artist," and Zheg Arban's "Room 209."

Four script submissions to "VLF 19" will also have staged readings: Christa De La Cruz's "Huling Salita," Dia Sales' "Pabili ng Christmas Tree," Atria Pacana's "Shiver," and Floyd Scott Tioganco's "Patayin ang mga Surot."
