Sofronio Vasquez performs SB19's 'MAPA' with Filipino American Symphony Orchestra
Sofronio Vasquez and the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra (FASO) delivered a heart-warming rendition of SB19's iconic song "MAPA."
On Friday, the FASO released a video of the performance recorded on August 15 at the Los Angeles Cathedral of the Angels.
Maestro Bob Shroder conducted the performance while Naldy Rodriguez arranged the music.
Sofronio brought honor to the Philippines after winning "The Voice USA" last year. He was the first Filipino to win the competition.
"MAPA" was among the tracks of SB19's first EP, "Pagsibol." An emotional anthem for parents, it has been played in graduations and other special occasions.
It has also been introduced to international fans. SB19 recently collaborated with Indonesian artist Aruma for a Bahasa Indonesia version of the song, and they previously performed it in Japanese YouTube channel "The First Take."
Last year, the lyric video of "MAPA" reached 100 million views on YouTube. It now has over 120 million views.
Meanwhile, SB19 is currently on their Simula at Wakas world tour in support of their EP of the same name.
Composed of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, SB19 has been celebrated as the P-pop Kings for raising the flag of idol groups in the Philippines.
